dear people that are my facebook friends
stop joining these “R U PRETTY OR R U UGLY? LET US TELL U” or whatever groups. i open up my facebook, i see people posting scathing comments on pictures, and i’m too weak to just skip over that kind of stuff (facebook is for lurking after all). i’ve accumulated a few helpful pointers those who are posting pictures of themselves in these kinds of groups, though. enjoy.
- people go on these things to trash other people. they will trash you. if you don’t care about trashing like you say, then don’t respond to insults.
- you’re posting photos of yourself and inviting people to criticize. you do realize you’re using the internet, right? people have a lot of gall once they’re protected behind a computer screen. don’t be surprised when they go “OMG YR NASTY”
- if you get caught up into a whirlwind e-argument with somebody, please don’t say “well you don’t even know me…” or something along those lines. unannounced to you, people judge you every day. do they know you? no. are people going to judge you anyway? yeah. the whole point to these groups anyway is to blindly judge people, right? so don’t be surprised when people blindly judge you. welcome to the internet, people don’t get to explore the depths of your personality and understand your subtle quirks when they’ve only ever seen your facebook page. don’t expect them to be able to either.
- “big words” or grasping to come off as eloquent won’t get you anywhere. arguments don’t magically gain merit once you funk-up your syntax. condescension isn’t going to get you anywhere.
i just want peace and harmony back on my facebook page, people. throw me a bone here.
in other news, the show is going really, really well. come see “machinal” at the lower denton theatre ASAP. for more information check out http://theatre.acadiau.ca
also ordered a camera from lomo today. i’ve got a 35mm holga with a coloursplash flash coming my way within the next few weeks (it’s just got to be shipped and the paypal has to go through). pumped beyond belief.
i’m also tired beyond belief.

so where has my head been this past month?
between band practice, the show opening (on wednesday may i add) along with theatre busy-work, school work, work at staples, NSSSA stuff and everything else, i have been run off of my feet. in fact, i shouldn’t even be writing this right now because i have a midterm, a test, and an assignment due tomorrow. i’m finished the assignment, comfortable enough to do my test, but have a huge amount of reading, reviewing and all of that fun stuff that midterms entail left to do.
things have been working out well lately. i got the festival antigonish job for this summer, and i am slowly but surely conquering all of my busy work to be done. as it stands, i’m 3/4 of the way through my first year of university which is a bit scary when you think about how quickly time has passed, but at the same time, i cannot even begin to say how happy i will be when the last day of classes rolls around because then i can relax a little bit. well, after exams i guess. not that i don’t enjoy, but it will be nice to catch up on sleep.
speaking of sleep, time to not get any.
